Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station Decommissioning Project

TSSD has been supporting the Vermont Yankee Decommissioning Project since plant shutdown in 2014. TSSD has been a proud and loyal service provider to the former utility owner and now current decommissioning agent and licensee, NorthStar Vermont Yankee and NorthStar Nuclear Decommissioning Company.

TSSD supported operational and transitional needs, spent fuel transfer efforts, and NorthStar pre-work in advance of the closure and sale of the plant asset and license transfer from utility owner to decommissioning agent. TSSD is now the primary staff augmentation contractor of the decommissioning and site closure project. TSSD personnel have supported day-to-day needs as well as specialty efforts inclusive of the VT CPG proceedings, other VT state regulatory proceedings and consult on Department of Energy (DOE) cost recovery proceedings and spent fuel cost settlement and/or recovery approach.

TSSD is routinely engaged by NorthStar to provide full scope decommissioning support. This includes staff augmentation and subject matter expertise. TSSD personnel hold senior management positions within the project management organization, as well as leadership roles in maintaining essential functional support e.g. in radiation protection, quality assurance, work planning and control, worker concerns and site closure efforts. TSSD personnel hold positions throughout the project organization from field support to decommissioning project management.
